Being diagnosed with skin cancer at just 26 years of age changed my life.  It was scary, awful, and traumatic.  (Kleenex made a small fortune wiping away my tears for a few weeks!)  After getting over the self-pity, I realized that I  had actually been presented with was an opportunity to do something meaningful with my life.  I enjoyed working in the corporate word, but here was a chance to help others avoid my fate – and maybe even save lives.  With the conviction that comes from knowing without a doubt that you are doing something right, I dove headfirst into the world of UPF sun protective clothing … and thus was born SwimZip.

How to Chose 6-12 Month Swimwear, Swimsuits, Bathing Suits, and Rash Guards

One of the most important and potentially overwhelming decisions facing a new parent come summer or vacation time is choosing the proper swimwear for their 6-12 Month Old.  Infant swimsuits come in an almost infinite number of colors, styles, materials, designs, etc. So what factors should you consider when deciding on a 6-12 Month baby bathing suit and ultimately what is the best swimsuit?

Without a doubt, the single most important factor when choosing a baby swimsuit is sun protection. 6-12 Month Olds have incredibly sensitive skin.  Dermatologists know that UV exposure leads directly to skin cancer, and just a single sunburn as a baby, toddler, or child can lead to skin cancer later in life.
