Holiday Beach Travel Tips

It is that time of year again when cold weather sets in and families head off to the beach for holiday travel!  It may have been a few months since sun exposure was at the front of your mind, but do not forget to stay covered up.  Children are especially vulnerable to the sun's harmful UV rays, so be sure to wear clothing with spf protection.  In particular, when at the beach or pool, the sun's rays will be bouncing off the water and creating even more chances for sunburn.  Get a child bathing suit with UV protection like SwimZip's Ruffle Me Pretty or Surfer Dude and wear a hat.  They are so cute and may help prevent your child from getting skin cancer later in life.  For the best 2013 swimwear and swimsuits, check out SwimZip's award winning line of sun protection swimsuits for baby, toddler, and kids.

How to Protect from the Sun

When it comes to protecting skin from the sun, the two most important things are to put on UV protective clothing and wear sunscreen.  Both can protect the skin from sun's uva and uvb rays - which is extremely important because these damaging rays can lead to skin cancer.  Keep in mind, to be safe in the sun you must reapply sunscreen often (as much as once every two hours or even more (especially if you have been in the water)) or wear clothing specially designed to protect from the sun.  For example, SwimZip swimsuits block 99% of UVA and UVB rays and are a great complement to sunscreen.  When Iplay at the pool with my kids, I insist they wear a swimsuit that blocks the sun's rays, sunscreen, and a hat.  When it comes time to protect from the sun, there is simply no excuse not to be covered.  With products like SwimZip swimwear (www.swimzip.com), rash guards, hats, and sunscreens - protecting from the sun has never been easier (or more important!)  Get out and play, but be sun safe!
